The Hunza Wheel Of Health And Happiness...
The World’s
Ultimate Anti-aging Health And
Wellness Model On A National
Scale
The Hunza wheel or model of
anti-aging,
health and wellness and
healthy lifestyle
pursuits can be summed up by stating that their philosophy
of being revolved around the notion that life should be
approached and lived as a comprehensive and complete whole.
·
Play
·
Work
·
Eating
·
Sleeping
·
Personal hygiene
·
Mental-emotional pursuits and engagements |
These were looked upon as
important,
inter-related
parts
of a
unified whole
– a complete model of anti-aging, health and wellness life
components not to be
isolated
and
segregated
from the whole of one’s experience.
Every conscious, deliberate action in one area of life had
its expected
consequences
in all other areas of life. This included the
relationship
between each
citizen
and their
nation.
The health and wellness of each member of Hunza society
reflected on and had a
direct effect
on the health of the entire nation. It was an
honor
to be born and to live one’s life as a Hunzakut.
Good health begins with the RIGHT attitude
The people of Hunzaland attributed their
great health
and
age,
not to some obscure anti-aging potion, but rather to an
inborn
resolve
to remain fit, active, helpful and ultimately
useful
to the
general welfare
and economy of the Hunza nation.
It was impossible to find a Hunzakut who did not have a
fiery zest
for life, an
altruistic attitude
of service to others and a heartfelt
willingness
to do whatever was required for the
benefit
of the
community
as a whole. Life in Hunzaland could at times be
harsh
– as in their
extremely
cold
winters - but it was always lived in
moderation
and ultimately for the
benefit
of all.
Quite a
refreshingly different
attitude than what you’ll find permeating the
stress-filled
households,
noisy
streets and
crowded
cities of our
bustling
world today – wouldn’t you say?
Why was the average citizen of Hunzaland so much
healthier
and happier than the average person in the Twenty-first
Century?
Health and wellness was a permanent way of life – not a
periodic fad. Consider:
·
The people of Hunzaland all felt a part of something grand
and wonderful. This attitude showed in every aspect of their
way of life.
·
The most prominent characteristic of their wonderful culture
was the depth and focus of their traditions.
·
They were born into an established, successful society where
every aspect of one’s early years of training and social
orientation were geared to supporting and sustaining the
whole of their remarkable society.
·
There were no ‘bad apples’ in their lot. Everyone was made
to feel a part of the whole. Everyone worked for the benefit
of the nation as a whole. This necessitated being healthy,
fit, cheerful, altruistic, congenial, helpful and concerned
for the welfare of others and the nation, inseparable.
·
The Hunza way of government, religious observance, food
culture, animal husbandry, disposal of waste, and all other
aspects of their collective existence were viewed as
important, inter-related facets of the one nation state
within the heart and body of God.
With such an indomitable attitude is it any wonder that the
Hunza approach to personal hygiene, physiological and mental
health would also reflect a truly holistic and whole being
philosophy?
Who were the Hunzas and where were they located?
Shades of Alexander The Great….
The military forces of Alexander the Great were withdrawing
from Asia just over
2000
years ago.
It was well known at the time that Alexander had a penchant
for extracting the
strongest young men
from the countries he absorbed and conquered and placed
these men in his army.
Macedonia, Iran, Turkey, the Balkans and of course Greece
were the countries in which he found his
best
soldiers. This accounted in large part for his
legendary
military victories – he had the best soldiers on earth
fighting his battles.
At one point, a sizeable number of his soldiers took a
strong fancy to a
harsh
looking but
enchanting
valley situated
between India and Afghanistan,
high up in a Himalayan mountain pass.
Alexander offered no resistance to the soldiers and their
Middle eastern wives who decided to settle down in the
valley, which spanned a distance of seven habitable miles.
Within a short time these able-bodied men and women bore
children. This was the beginning of the Hunza nation.
From the beginning the Hunzas established a truly
royal
lineage
The first King of Hunzaland – the Mir - declared a
royal lineage
branching from Alexander the Great himself.
The Hunza nation flag bore the distinct sign of Alexander –
a lion.
The young nation was primarily concerned with the formation
of a
national code
of social, economic and administrative interaction that
every citizen of Hunzaland would willingly
support.
Having witnessed the best and worst of many cultures during
their military exploits, the founders of Hunzaland decided
on a
simple
way of life that included the following
important
elements:
·
An open form of government where each citizen could have any
just grievance heard and arbitrated before the King and his
council.
·
The ability to follow one’s heart in religious matters.
·
An inbred sense of duty of each citizen toward all others in
Hunzaland and to the nation itself as a sovereign entity.
·
Pride in one’s occupation - whatever its nature - knowing it
was a service that contributed to the general welfare and
well-being of the nation
·
Promoting strong family ties, healthy recreational pursuits,
hobbies, sporting activities, civic functions, religious
observances, social engagements and other pastimes that
engendered a strong sense of belonging and citizenship.
·
Perhaps most important of all; development of an organic
farming system that would ensure the disease-free health and
longevity of the Hunza people.
What can YOU learn from the amazing people of Hunzaland that
can enrich your life?
Plenty! These amazingly healthy and robust people were the world’s
ultimate standard for vibrantly healthy and happy living for two
thousand years.
The
average Hunzakut – as they called themselves – lived to be well over 100
years of age and typically died in good health and with every tooth
still intact and cavity-free.
When I
say they died healthy, what I mean is that their physically strong and
able bodies simply gave out from so many years of living a good, natural
life. They rarely ever died from glandular, organ or system failure, as
is so common in our modern world.
What the healthy, industrious and eternally cheerful
people of Hunzaland once taught Doctors McCarrison and Jensen about
anti-aging, health and wellness, obtaining and maintaining robust
health, long life and happiness, you can read about in my book:
Health And Wellness The Hunza Way.
My enjoyable little book may be the next best thing to you
traveling back in time and living for a spell among these
remarkable people to learn what it takes to live a long, happy and
fruitful life of service.
