Alternative Medicine,

Can
Alternative Medicine Practitioners
REALLY See Primary Care Patients?
Consider this fact:
more than half of the patients I’ve seen as an Alternative
Medicine Practitioner have been for Primary Care health issues.
This includes seeing children, teens, adults and elderly patients. What
specific kinds of conditions have I seen and consulted
with patients for?
I’m talking about
Primary Care and Secondary Care health issues, including, but not
limited to:
-
Physical
examinations, although my technique may differ somewhat from that of
a traditionally trained Primary Care Provider.
-
Management of
degenerative illnesses such as cancer, asthma, emphysema, certain
heart conditions and rheumatoid arthritis.
-
Management of
chronic conditions, such as ulcers, constipation, insomnia,
Diabetes, hypertension, high and low blood pressure, hearing
difficulties caused by wax build-up and thyroid conditions.
-
Management of
acute and sub-acute disorders such as colds, flu, inflammation,
headaches, acid reflux and skin conditions.
-
Management of
certain common psychiatric problems seen in the Primary Care setting
such as depression and anxiety with appropriate referral as needed.
-
Emergencies such
as food poisoning, minor lacerations not requiring stitches and
uncomplicated orthopedic problems.
-
Preventive
educational emphasis targeting common health issues, including, but
not limited to, tobacco and alcohol and drug abuse, diet, obesity,
venereal disease, HIV/Hepatitis C, injury prevention.
Bear in mind that
I never treat an illness directly. My philosophy is that if you
treat the whole person you’ll naturally be taking care of whatever
symptoms are present.
How
did an Alternative Medicine Practitioner get to see Primary Care
Patients?
How is it that I was
able to see patients for the kinds of health issues most people think
you must see a traditional Medical Doctor for?
As uncomplicated
and surprising as it may sound... they came to me willingly,
knowing that, as an Alternative Medicine Practitioner, I was fully
capable of meeting their needs.
Those patients
didn’t allow themselves to be fooled or confused by
all of the nonsense and misinformation you read in
mainstream magazines or see and hear on TV. Most of my patients were
referred by word-of-mouth and they had a good idea about what kinds of
health issues I could competently handle.
I paid my dues and
so has every other well-trained Alternative Medicine Practitioner
I’m aware of. Is there a well-orchestrated conspiracy afoot that
‘s keeping unsuspecting Americans in the dark about this
entire Primary Care accessibility problem? Read on and YOU be the
judge.
